First, does your baby like to self-soothe by touching their face? Try leaving one arm out if they do.
2
Put baby in with legs in either inner newborn pouch or in outer sack (depending on baby's size), and place front section on baby's chest.
3
Each Hug pouch (located at either side of the front section) is placed at baby's sides, for a feeling of security and a good sleep (just like getting a hug).
FROM NEWBORN UNTIL BABY SHOWS SIGNS OF ROLLING OVER (AROUND 3 MONTHS):
1
Wrap left swaddle wing across baby's arms so soft velcro loops face up.
2
Wrap right swaddle over left swaddle so that soft velcro hooks fasten onto loops.
3
Baby is swaddled for that soothing secure feeling that resembles the womb and a deeper, longer sleep (see medical references listed on Home page under "Why Swaddle?").
FROM WHEN BABY SHOWS SIGNS OF ROLLING OVER UNTIL 6 MONTHS:
1
Follow the same procedure, but instead of wrapping swaddle wings over arms, wrap over chest with baby's arms out.
2
This allows for rolling over freely...
3
...and for baby to use arms as needed.
